“Giver of Life” (John 10:10)

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” (NKJV)

In a time when there is so much of infirmity and negative news around us, it is easy to be confused about where it is coming from. Some people even seem to think it is from God Himself. Jesus tells us in these verses of Scripture that it is the “thief” who comes and does the bad stuff. He (Jesus) came to bring life, and to draw us into the fullest possible expression of His life in everything we do. He came to bring us to the revelation of Heaven, and how to live in our identity, as sons of Divinity.

Dear friend, may I encourage you to fix your eyes on Jesus, and to set your heart on the nature and character of God. He is good, and He loves us and wants to see us overcome the challenges we are facing, and to walk through them victoriously to the other side. Jesus is all about life, and if you have given your heart and life to Him, if you belong to Him, then His powerful life giving Spirit lives inside you! Romans 8:11 says: “And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” The resurrection power of the Holy Spirit is in you and He is filling you with the zoe life of God every day! The more you tap into His power and strength inside you, the more you will feel the rising River of His goodness, His life filling you up and emanating out of you. This is not a time for us to absorb what is going on in the world around us, and to let it influence us and bring us down. No! This is a time to get strong in the Lord and to feed on His Word. It is a time to pray and worship, and to experience the undiluted power of His presence within. It is our time to release that very real presence of the Holy Spirit into the hurting world around us, to people who are desperately looking for answers, and for hope. There is power in the precious blood of Jesus! There is power in the Holy Word of God. There is power in the mighty name of the King of kings, whose we are.

When we focus on Jesus and His Word, we are really focusing on Life. In Psalm 23:4, the psalmist writes: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”  We may be seeing sickness and the news of it all around us, but just keep walking through the valley, dear friend. Do not stop and camp there, like some of our friends in the media would like us to do. We are walking through this and out of it, because God’s Word promises us that we need fear no evil. He is with us, each one of us, as much as we look to Him, and place ourselves under His covering, authority, and protection (the rod and staff). We can rest assured in the knowledge that Yahweh God Himself is walking through this “valley of Baca” with us, and that while we do, He empowers us to make it not a place of weeping but a place of springs (Psalm 84:5-7), of refreshing pools. He is enabling us to be a blessing wherever we are, releasing the power of heaven upon the earth, touching a life here, a life there (even with a mask on!), and making a difference around us where we are. He is taking us from strength to strength, from glory to glory, and we are coming through this season filled with light and Life, and strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!

Let’s set our eyes on Jesus and seek His face. He is the source of every breakthrough. Nothing that is happening is a surprise to Him, and He has all the answers we need, hallelujah! There is a shift happening in the church of Jesus Christ, and in the nations of the world, and the glory of the Lord will be revealed on the earth like never before! This Resurrection Day is going to be a turning point and it will be clear to us all.

“Jesus we love You and we worship You. We know and believe that every infirmity was nailed to Your cross. Today we receive afresh the Life giving power of Your blood, and everything you died to give us. We will not get sick or die, but live and declare the glory of who You are! We are strong and filled with the Holy Spirit who raised You from the dead, and He is filling our mortal bodies with divine Life. We receive your resurrection power, and we thank you, in Jesus’ name Amen!”
