Exceedingly Abundantly – Eph 3:20

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever, Amen.”

There’s something special happening, something fresh and new, and as you choose to look, you will see it manifesting before you. Have you been wondering what our Father God has in His heart for you? It’s truly something exceedingly abundant, and more than anything you have ever thought of for yourself! You may ask yourself :“If that is true, how come I have never seen this abundance manifesting in things I do? How come this realm has always felt like it was beyond my reach?” I hear you, friend. Perhaps it is only because you never imagined it; perhaps you never dreamed big dreams for yourself, or thought huge thoughts about what you could be or what you could see manifesting in your life.

I really believe there are things we do (or don’t do) which keep us stuck where we are when we could be walking in the “more” God has for us. The first thing is to allow our minds to grow and stretch, and to begin to “see” what we don’t currently see. We see the Word of God telling us to expand our thoughts and to allow them to move into the realms of what we want to see manifested. Some versions of the Bible say “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly more than all we could ask or imagine.” (Eph 3:20, NIV). These verses are talking about envisioning, picturing, seeing in the realm of the mind those things which are in your heart as a desire. I am very sure that it is there in your heart because the Holy Spirit put it there, and because it is what you were created for! We are often afraid to ask or imagine, because we have experienced disappointments in the past; but what would happen if we began to envision that dream situation – that business, that fulfilling relationship, the totally healed and healthy body? This is the first step towards creating with God!

In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 & 2, we see how God envisioned all of creation in the depths of His heart before He ever called it forth into existence. He created in the spirit realm before it ever manifested in the spiritual. We do this all the time when we ponder over things that have happened in the past, never realizing that when we meditate on past losses, hurts and disappointments, we are just rehearsing and calling forth more of the same, or keeping a bad situation in our lives. On the other hand, think about how different things could be, for ourselves and also for those around us, if we manifest the heart of God into our envisioning, and we “rehearse” (good) future possibilities rather than the things of the past that didn’t go well for us! This is so easy and yet so hard, because our ultra consciousness of our current or recent reality can stop us dreaming. However, something begins to happen when you dream with God; when you see through His eyes and His heart; when you picture that desired situation, and practice the positive emotion of joy or thankfulness, there is a transformation already beginning to happen.

But wait, there’s one more thing! Envisioning is not enough to keep that dream alive in your heart and in the spiritual realm. But when you set your intention and your will upon that goal and fix your eyes upon this thing that doesn’t currently exist, it becomes something you are really believing for, and becomes faith. It takes on a life of its own when you begin to believe. In the world, we have to see to be able to believe and to experience the manifestation. In God we usually believe, and then we see it in the physical realm!

Friend, I am so thankful that God the Holy Spirit is in us, and leading us onwards and upwards towards the deeper things of God. Remember we are offspring of the most high, and that all of creation is awaiting their redemption through the sons of God (Romans 8:19). We are empowered and commissioned to arise and redeem what is fallen, failing or weak around us so let’s partner with God, and call forth those things that are not as though they are (Romans 4:17). I choose to create with my Father, and I can start with my own life; with my own calling and work. I can call forth those dreams in my heart, the ones God has for me, and see them come to be!

“Precious Holy Spirit, I give you my mind, my imagination. Help me to see with Your eyes. Help me to envision God’s perfect will for me this year, and to create with You”!
