According To Your Word (Luke 1:38)

“Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” (NKJV)

Yes! Let it be to us according to God’s Word – every beautiful, powerful, living word that has been spoken over our lives, and spoken forth into the universe by our Creator God and King! This is the heart of the Father, that His blessing is manifested and perpetuated on the face of the earth, that His Word becomes flesh in us His children!

When Mary experienced an angelic visitation, she was shocked and amazed. In a short space of time, she was told many things that her heart had to believe and receive. This young girl had to accept and understand that she would be the mother of the Son of Yahweh God, and this was information beyond normal human understanding, only made clear through a divine revelation. But Mary said to the angel “Behold the maidservant of the Lord”. She was saying, “I am in God’s hands, and I am agreeable to anything He wants to do in my life.” She also said “Let it be to me according to your Word”.

There are many of us waiting to see the fulfillment of promises and personal words of prophecy in our lives, and we can learn from Mary. When she asked the angel how this could all come to pass, she was told that the Holy Spirit would come upon her and that His power would overshadow her, to bring to pass what had been spoken. Mary heard and received the word. She stepped into total agreement with what was spoken over her life – she freely received the presence of the Holy Spirit, and as she became one with Him, she became one with the Word she heard.

There are two things which I believe the Holy Spirit would have us focus on today. 1) He is reminding us about the power there is in agreeing and identifying with the Word. There is a frequency of life which is manifested from the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit brings it to life within and through us. When we agree with the Word of God, there is a resonance deep within our spirits, a faith filled power which creates and transforms, and impacts matter, our organs and cells. The Holy Spirit breathes upon it and as it comes alive in us; the Word is made flesh in us. The Word (with the Spirit) begins to create, in the same way God spoke the Word and created everything, as can be seen in the Book of Genesis, Chapters 1 and 2.

2) Mary said “Let it be to me according to your Word, and the Holy Spirit is asking us to have the same attitude in our hearts today. People love to receive words from pastors and prophets, and other ministers, and these may be good and encouraging words, but not necessarily God’s Word. As a minister, I have seen how easy it is for people to believe and receive the words, opinions and advice of a human being, rather than to seek the Lord and hearken unto His voice, His words! Many of us find it easier to read books by Christian authors, rather than to feed on the pure Word. Jesus said to His disciples in John 6:63:“The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.” If we would feed on the Word, and read or listen with the help of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Himself (the Word) begins to fill us with His life and power, and the revelation and understanding we need to step out and walk into the manifestation of the Word. The best way to get to know Jesus is to feed deeply on His Word daily, and to believe it and allow it to speak to you and teach you about who He is. You then receive the discernment you need for life and spiritual understanding. I went through many disappointments and frustrations in life, before I realized that it was not about my word or a friend’s word, or even a word from a minister of the Lord.  It is all about Him (Jesus) and His Word, and what He is saying to His beloved in real time. His Word reveals His plans, His heart, and His desires for our lives. The more we hear Him and feed on His Word, the more the Holy Spirit moves us into alignment with His heart and His will for us, and the more we are able to say with all our hearts “Yes! Let it be to me according to your Word!”

Dear friend, it could be that you have been waiting to see a prophecy for your life being fulfilled. This is your season to step into it. Embrace the Word God spoke, and receive it deep into your heart. Let your heart completely agree and resonate with it, so that you become one with it. Speak it forth strongly. You are agreeing with God. You are releasing His life force, the creative power of the Holy Spirit to transform your situation. You are stepping into the realm of all possibility, where the Holy Spirit hovers over the swirling deep and whatever you call forth comes into existence, in the same way God said “Light be” and there was light!

As you read this Word, and agree with it, there is a holy resonance, a life force being released from the very deep river of life within your innermost being.  I declare all the glory of God that came upon Mary to come upon you. I am saying “the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the most High will overshadow you.” There is a womb opening up and becoming a place of life. There are tumors that are beginning to shrink. There is healing happening in a marriage, where forgiveness and restoration seemed like an impossibility. Someone’s job is opening up; somebody’s debt is getting cancelled. A person scheduled for surgery is finding that they don’t need it after all, in the mighty name of Jesus! If this is for you, just say “Let it be to me according to Your Word”. The Lord has spoken. So it shall be, so it is done, in Jesus’ mighty name!

May your Christmas be filled with joy and peace, and the presence of Jesus. I know there is a lot happening in the world right now, but you are held in the depths of God’s presence. He surrounds you and holds you in His hands. He is making all things new, hallelujah!
